Development and Entrepreneurial Excellence at The Abbey

4 credit hours
Price: $3600, including international air travel,
ground transfer to The Abbey, tuition, housing, breakfast
or lunch each day, international cellular phone and
all required museum visits.

Graduate students in International Economic Development
1) The
Summer Doctoral Research Project in International Economic
Development
The University
of Southern Mississippi's doctoral program in International
Economic Development will join forces with its Center
for Community Development in offering a short course
research program at The Abbey to focus on two themes:
1) the local and regional economic implications of The
Abbey's new life as a center for international education;
2) the feasibility of a developing a "point of entry
to the Loire Museum" at The Abbey, which would feature
a multi media welcome center and museum overview of
the history, architecture and local products of the
Loire Valley. Dr. David Butler and Bill Sisson of The
College of International Education at The University
of Southern Mississippi will teach this course.
2) Summer
2003 International Economic Development Summit at The
Abbey: High Technology Platforms for Development and
Planning Synergy
In conjunction
with the Summer Doctoral Research Project in International
Economic Development, The University of Southern Mississippi
and its College of International and Continuing Education
will host a large format conference with the theme of
High Technology Platforms for Development and Planning
Synergy. Welcoming academics, business professionals,
planners and economic development officers from around
the world, the summit will publish its proceedings in
an international journal.
