Service Learning
International
education can provide rich opportunities for cultural
immersion. The Eur-Am Center can also become an on-ramp
to participation in service learning and community development
projects. Coordinated by the staff of The Eur-Am Center
and volunteers, service opportunities are being developed
to include the following:
- Internet
and computer training given to elementary and middle
school children in the communities and adults
- Sports
and fitness training shared with elementary and
middle school children
- Landscape
and gardening projects at and around neighboring
towns
- Language
training and cultural awareness interchange
