The Eur-Am
Center was founded in 2000 to increase international
cooperation, learning, understanding, and economic
development between the United States of America
and Europe. Created
in the European Union as a not-for-profit association,
the Eur-Am Center vision embraces the following:
- Partnerships
between American and European universities, colleges,
and consortia
- Residential
educational programs in the humanities, business,
culinary arts, landscape architecture, music, and
the fine arts
- Local,
regional, national, and international economic development
through governmental agencies, universities and the
private sector
- Business
education, executive training and professional development
- Training,
exhibitions, and education in music, the fine arts,
and cultural pursuits
Led and
supported by its private-sector allies and a university
consortium in Europe and the United States, the Eur-Am
Center established its base of operations in February
2001 in Pontlevoy, France. In June 2002, the historic
main buildings on campus were fully renovated and modernized.
This breathtaking design and construction effort has
been made possible by a generous subvention from the
people and government of France.
